How to link Molly from a user profile?

i think the trick is using a different version. Aka molly/signal foss and molly from google play in another.

Signal only allows one mobile phone from what i remember.

You're correct. That is why I installed Molly hoping that it would solve my problem.

Since I already have Signal through the Play Store in my Owner profile, I could install Molly FOSS in my user profile, but it says I need to run my own server for unified push notifications. This is not ideal for my right now.

@Nuttso - I would love to get your insight into this.

AttemptUndertook Okay, I just did it today and it's successful. I had a separate tablet. I backed up my original molly account and restored it on the tablet and then the tablet was the main account and then you can add 4 extra devices/profriles as you want. Molly , molly Foss, molly beta, signal, signal desktop, signal foss all good.

One device is the "main" and it shouldn't be your phone. You will have to relink all the other instances but all my data transferred and we are good.

I don't have that option under privacy in my Signal app.

When I first launched Molly in my user profile, it asked me if I want to encrypt the database, and I said no. I tried linking again and I see the device name I gave Molly in my Signal app as linked, but messages are not coming in to Molly.

Ah you're trying to link signal and molly. That doesn't work.

It does work. In the profile in which you are running Molly, you need to allow running in the background. Then take a pic of the QR code with another device. Scan that QR to link it on your signal app on your main profile. I am running it now. Works fine. You can turn off running in the background once linked.

You need to allow the profile to run in the background, and I used my friend’s phone to take a photo of the QR code so I could scan it with my main profile.

I searched for "Molly" using the discussion forum’s search function and found this post, and I can now use Molly across both of my profiles on my Pixel 9a.
