Is there a way for me to help a specific feature request be revived?

It would be great to have a toggle which sets each call to be recorded by default - so the call recording button doesn't have be to be manually enabled each time. It would also mean the entire call is recorded and not missing the amount of time it takes to enable.

A pull request, with code that merges and is of high quality and has been tested, might help! A quick skim of the code at the top of that issue has at least one clear defect (a block of code is commented out, which is arguably gauche).

If you can get Automatic Call Recorder by Appliqato to work then that has the option. I always used that on my phones, but as there is a recorder on GOS then I don't bother. How much of a call are you missing? Half a second at most

gokuquarto FYI: Skvalex in combination with Shizuku works fine on a pixel 10 Pro w/ current GrapheneOS. I use voice uplink+ voice downlink.

It records calls over Bluetooth and my SIP client as well as WhatsApp (uncheck "Ignore VOIP calls" for that).

You do need to get a license outside of the play store at https://callrecorder.skvalex.com/get (normal site for docs is .org FYI)

Cube ACR recorder pro records Signal automatically too for some reason :)

So with the two every call I make or take is recorded in good quality (as in: ambient noise is suppressed, it's a clear audio stream of the call).

raphidae Great, thank you. I rely on automated call recording too many times (mostly with bank and insurance "advisors" lying though their teeth) so that will be a nice upgrade to the partially implemented functionality.

If you don't want to install an additional app and can wait a little longer, you might find this announcement helpful:

GrapheneOS has built-in support for call recording in the system dialer. It's being extended with support for enabling defaulting to having call recording enabled soon.
