Forrestredstreet What if I delete play store and use a new acct, do all my apps go with it?
It should only be paid apps tied to the account that gets lost. Any other free apps should stay, and can continue to be updated by a new Play Store installation/account.
What is the privacy value in splitting apps between profiles?
Apps can communicate with mutual consent via IPC. Until App Communication Scopes is implemented by Graphene, the best/only way to stop IPC completely is separate profiles.
Before switched to gos I loved DDG for browsing and the fireproofing/clearing my cache automatically to clear any cookies after every session. No other browser makes that as easy, including vanadium.
DDG Browser is, from my understanding a WebView browser (not a "full browser"), which in case you weren't aware has issues described here:
WebView-based browsers use the hardened Vanadium rendering engine, but they can't offer as much privacy and control due to being limited to the capabilities supported by the WebView widget. For example, they can't provide a setting for toggling sensors access because the feature is fairly new and the WebView WebSettings API doesn't yet include support for it as it does for JavaScript, location, cookies, DOM storage and other older features. For sensors, the Sensors app permission added by GrapheneOS can be toggled off for the browser app as a whole instead. The WebView sandbox also currently runs every instance within the same sandbox and doesn't support site isolation.
Why does vanadium show me the "close incognito tabs" notification if I've already closed the app? There's no way to return to them. If I open the app again, it auto closes them and the notification is gone, if I click that notification it closes them I assume in the background. Waste of a click/notification seems like
Long-press the Vanadium icon > App Info > Notifications > Turn off "Incognito"
