2+ Sim Cards? Pixel 8 Pro

Hey :)

I've read that some phones are able to support up to 8 E Sims installed (only one or two active at the same time) and I was wandering if that's possible with GOS/Pixel 8 Pro?

I have multiple company numbers and one private one. Since I was only able to use two phone numbers, my private ohne got mixed with work (had to call and didn't have the right one inserted at the time etc) and I am trying to get a solution because people are starting to freaking spam call me while I'm sick, sleeping etc. Even though I only used my number a few times and told them not to use it or give it to someone else.

Looking for a fresh start/new number anyways :)

Anyone know anything?

It sounds like your situation may be better served by something like mysudo or jmp.chat if you'd like multiple (more than 2) numbers 'active' at the same time. Have you explored solutions like that?

smoothy I believe it's not possible to have more than 2 active SIM cards at the same time on your pixel 8 pro.

You can have 1 physical SIM + 1 eSIM active at the same time.

You can also have two eSIMs active at the same time.

You can have multiple eSIMs installed (more than 2) but you cannot use them all at the same time meaning you'd have to switch between those.

So briefly summarized you can only use 2 SIMs simultaneously.

I need one in Germany, two in Switzerland, one or two in the UK and so on. So for example something US only won't help unfortunately and I don't want to be one of those "I am very important I need a gazillion phones with me" guys. Also, having a Sim Card Backpack seems overkill as well 😂

UpStream I know I can't use more at the same time. I just have to be ready to use them for things like 2FA or if I actually want to use them to make a call.

I recall having to install the E-Sim prior to installing GOS before my old Pixel 8 broke. Is that still true?

smoothy No that's not true. You can install an eSIM after installing GrapheneOS.

I have a pixel 6a and I added an eSIM that way.

As I only have 1 eSIM I'm not sure how switching between eSIMs works. You might need sandboxed play serviced installed according to this post:

If you just need them to be readily available if you need to make a call or be able to switch to it quickly in the case of expecting a 2FA code, just install several e-sims and switch to the appropriate one(s) when you need to. Only 2 can be active at any given time, so you won't know if you get a call/sms to one of the inactive ones, but it sounds like that is not your use case anyway.

And you no longer need to install the esim prior to flashing graphene. Here is the documentation on what you should do:
