Can't access obb via move to / copy to

Hi. I've granted the system files app obb access via settings though I cannot move files to it.
I can see the contents and I can create directory inside it.

Can I manually move files to obb?

I am having a the same problem. I want to copy a file to the OBB folder in one of my profiles and I can't. I granted Files permission to access the OBB, but that didn't change anything. Still trying to sort out.

Just tried it, created a folder worked. When trying copy-to, only the 'media' folder shows in Android, the Obb, and Data folders contains the '.nomedia' file, might be what's hiding these directories. Renaming or deleting the file instantly rewrites a new, so there seems like this is a protection for Obb, and Data.

OBB was deprecated and replaced by Play Asset Delivery / Play Feature Delivery. Why do you need to do anything with OBB anymore? It's a legacy way to ship parts of an app separately which is not permitted for new apps and is going away for existing apps too.

It would violate the security model if it was possible to put arbitrary files there. It isn't something which really should have ever existed in the first place and it's a good thing it nearly entirely went away. We disallowed app stores writing to it and made a separate toggle.

OBB is not for storing app data, it's a legacy way that the Play Store used to distribute large parts of apps due to their APK size limit. It's obsolete and not allowed to be used anymore beyond being grandfathered in for legacy Play Store apps. It should not be used anymore.

MetropleX Hey, thanks for the response. I wanted to access the OBB to add a file in order to play Magic The Gathering Arena. I allowed the google play store to access the OBB in my owner profile, but when I pushed it another profile, it wasn't working and that's because it couldn't access the OBB. I got the app to work now, but only by downloading it from google play in the specific profile and giving google that access.
