I currently use Aurora store on GOS for downloading/updating apps. As widely mentioned in the forum, Aurora store despite its popularity, has it's limitations as well.

On my travel phone (stock Android 14), I use APKUpdater app for awhile now,

and I have no complaints so far as it works seamlessly.

But is APKUpdater safe to use on GOS?

TheAwesomenESQ personally, I wouldn't use it. I don't know where some of their sources get their APK files. Also, not sure what kind of checks they do on their end to make verify the APKs' integrity.

Google Play is the most secure if you can stand using it.

Looks similar to Obtainium which, on the topic of verifying APKs as @other8026 mentioned, has integration with AppVerifier.

Right. To be fair, this is an issue with Obtainium as well, but it's good they're making it easier to verify apps.
