Turn OFF Download Manager Notifications

I just installed build number 2024040900 to a pixel 7.
I'm baffled, in this OS that touts my freedom, why I cannot turn off download manager notifications. The option's grayed out. I don't need these notifications, and this option's being disabled sort of sucks.

What's the deal? Will the world's lynch pin fall out if we customise this?

shashinka If you are using Vanadium browser you can go to its notification settings and turn off 'completed downloads'. That should hide notification about the completed downloads.
Other browsers also should have the same.

That's not what I'm seeing, it looks like I can disable the notification permission for Download Manager, not that I would recommend touching permissions of system apps, but I'm not seeing what you are in the first place.

I'm not a developer. It would help if you could show a screenshot of what you're seeing, and the app ID of the app that you're trying to disable notifications for, and the exact place in which you're trying to do it.

Providing as much information as possible would help look into this further.

I don't need to be notified when downloads are finished. If, for whatever reason, I'm not able to change these notifications, just say so. I'm really not interested in a back and forth unless it's productive.

It's called troubleshooting. Your initial post lacks any sort of useful details to provide a solution without asking for additional details. If you're not interested in going back and forth, then provide all the useful details when you ask a question.

Unrelated to the issue at hand, I waited several hours after "works on my machine" response to see if there would be anything else useful forthcoming. Call me snarky if it helps you sleep at night. Hyperbole might've been a poor way to start this out, but I didn't choose violence as my first recourse.

I don't understand it either: it was a simple question. I didn't get any other responses aside from "Works on my machine" until after I pointed out how useless that response was. As you can see.

It's not so simple a fix. I had already tried what @W1zardK1ng suggested, and double checked after his suggestion. No Joy.

Under App Notifications->Show System-> Download Manager the option is grayed out. I can't change it.
Under Apps->OneDrive->Notifications ALL OneDrive Notifications are turned off. Yet when I download a file from my OneDrive, I still get the Download Notification.
