Here my understanding:
It depends on your personal preference, but digital cards offer also privacy enhancing safeguards like Tokenization. Which means that your Primary Account Number is bind by the process of Tokenization to the Device Account Number.
In the setup Phase of your app, the user has to provide the sensitive card information to the application to initiate the process of adding the card, but when this is done, the application will only safe the DAN and not the PAN. Which means if the user pays with the application, the seller will only see the DAN too.
Furthermore neither Apple nor Google selling the transactional history regrsinf their privacy terms in EU.
