No Notifications from Tesla App

Hello GOS Forum,

First, a HUGE thank you to the devs and those who help make GOS a reality!

New GOS user and just installed GOS on a brand new Pixel 7a and everything is working great except notifications from the Tesla app.

Config Info:

Pixel 7a - Factory Unlocked
Current GOS with April 5, 2024 Security Patch
One Profile: Owner
Google Services Framework installed: Network and Sensors permissions; Allow Battery background usage off.
Google Play services installed: Network, Sensors, and Notifications permissions; Allow Battery background usage on.
Google Play Store installed: Network, Sensors, and Notifications permissions; Allow Battery background usage off.

As mentioned, all other apps that are configured to allow Notifications work great, and all other apps that are configured to allow Notifications successfully kick notifications when they are not open (i.e MailDroid, Google Voice, stock SMS app,etc)

jbruton Unless I'm missing something, your setup looks fine to me. Did you install the Tesla app before setting up Sandboxed Google Play?

Either way, I'd suggest clearing the Tesla app's storage, then launching the app and setting everything up again.

Settings > apps > all apps > Tesla > Storage & cache > Clear storage

I looked for a way to do that myself but couldn't find a way.

For me notifications are working fine.

andonl I now have some notifications working from the Tesla App. The two notifications I have received so far are:

A short while after I charged at a Tesla Supercharger, I got a notification asking me to rate the experience.
Yesterday I received a notification that a software update was ready for my car.

What I am still not receiving are notifications that the car is finished charging, and notifications that a windows has been left down.

Are you getting the two types of notifications that I mention above I am not getting?
If so, will you please share your configuration setting with me?
I would love to get this working again as it did on my stock OS Pixel 4a 5G.

Have you enabled notification types in your profile inside Tesla app?
I am getting notifications when fully charged and when charging was interrupted.
When cabin is at desired temerature.
When I turn off bluetooh notification pops up that car is disconnected.
Yesterday left window open and left the car. Window was automaticaly closed when left. No notification in notification history.

I don't remember ever needing to turn on some notifications in the Tesla app when I got the car. My memory is that they were all just working.

You are correct however in that "charging complete" was not turned on in the notifications types in my profile inside the Tesla app. Maybe my Tesla app notification settings were not carried over from my online account when I installed the Tesla app after installing GOS.

Regardless. it's working again, and I am so grateful for your help! Thank you very much!
