Hello all,
I have been researching GrapheneOS for a while and really, really like it. I very much would like to try it, however I am concerned about the possibility that MMS won't work. I am aware that MMS is old and outdated, bad, and insecure, and that if I want secure or private conversations, I should use a superior platform like Signal.
Despite this, I cannot use GrapheneOS if it does not have MMS functionality on Verizon. Hard stop, no matter how much I want to, no matter how good GrapheneOS is in every other respect, no matter what workarounds there are, if I cannot use MMS on Verizon, that is an insurmountable dealbreaker for me.
I would rather not have to order a pixel only to have to immedietly return it upon turning it on and realizing MMS doesn't work with GrapheneOS.
I have already read:
The messaging here seems to be mixed. The GrapheneOS carrier functionality page would suggest that MMS works fine, but there are forum threads suggesting the opposite. I can't tell if these forum threads are cases of user error and it works fine for everyone else, or if GrapheneOS users just generally don't use MMS, so the issue doesn't often pop up.
Does anyone have experience using MMS successfully on Verizon? Is there any way I can check without having to outright buy a pixel and flash GrapheneOS, only to find out that it doesn't work and have to return it?
Thanks!
