Hello GrapheneOS!
Would it be advisable to set storage scopes on sandboxed google play services ( all 3) for even better privacy and security, or will that start to break things?
Thanks again!

On my phone, Google Services Framework and Google Play Services both have storage scopes enabled, both with no folders or files added. Google Play has no access to storage. Guess it never prompted me, since I would have enabled storage scopes.
I haven't had any issues with this setup.
What do they need storage access for?

Hmm. I just checked again. It says that Google Play Services and Google Services Framework "are effectively parts of one app. State of Storage Scopes is shared among them". I guess I was prompted by Play Services at one point. I'd revoke the permission, but I figure it doesn't do any harm.
