could this be an issue on the web installer?

my Pixel 7A has arrived today and I plan to install GrapheneOS on it through the web installer.

however, the cable that came with the Pixel is of course USB-C to USB-C and my laptop has no USB-C port, so I have the following options:
1- use a USB to USB cable I have with the USB to USB-C adapter that came with the Pixel
2- grab another USB-C to USB cable (such as the cable of another older phone) and use it instead.

could doing any of the above cause any problems with the web installer or I don't need to worry about it?

Cables and ports that don't meet the required specifications and wiring are the leading cause for install trouble by far. Hence why the one that comes included is ideal to use, because that one is guaranteed to work. I guess you don't really have a choice, you can always restart the install process, there's no risk of bricking your phone so feel free to try it out.

I see, but the problem would be only the cable then? Would using the packaged cable but with some usb-c to usb adapter to plug it on the PC port be better than using some other cable then? If yes I might get one of these

chile An adapter may cause issue, you can try it I suppose, but we can't really confirm it will.

If you have a USB-C port on your machine, that would be the best option. Another Android device could also be used (https://grapheneos.org/install/web#prerequisites)
