Hello All!
Now that I have Graphene on my Pixel 7, I wonder about my video options on the camera. Does Graphene not support other video features like Slow motion and other features that have in recent years been available with these phones? Or would this phone not have otherwise had those features to begin with?
Also, I remember some years ago, I came across some information on the net that claimed that cameras on phones can be dramatically improved with development apps which unlock the camera's quality potential and improve it. Is this true? If so does rthis explain why some phone iterations are essentially the same as the previous except for some apparent improvements in quality such as the camera for instance as such?

The standard camera takes decent photos and videos and regularly receives new features (e.g. night mode, EIS, HDR).

You can find more information about the camera here.

However, there are some limitations (e.g. no 4k 60fps) and some features such as blur, slow motion, timelapse are (still) missing. If such features are important to you, you could get a little more out of the hardware by installing the Pixel Camera app (formerly Google Camera), for example.

The great thing about GrapheneOS is that you can use this Google app in a relatively privacy-friendly way: Pixel Camera even runs without sandboxed Google Play and, more recently, without GSF; many users here also revoke the app's network permissions.

If you want to see a decent comparison of the Pixel 6's camera, I can recommend this video - or -even better- form your own opinion and compare the standard camera with the Pixel Camera on your Pixel 7 yourself.

Murcielago Excellent reply! Thank you so much. I will likely look into this hopefully tonight! Again , much thanks!
