Allow message app to be accessed by another user?

I am running into an irritating problem. I have setup another user for only accessing things like Google Play Store , my banking apps and MitID. There is a proof of concept, however I get sent verification SMSs with codes that I am supposed to use in connection with app activities. Unfortunately, I can't access these messages when in my verification profile. I am told that the owner does not allow access to the app from another profile. Under many circumstances, I would agree with this policy, however this could potentially prevent me from using a seperate verification profile, unless there is a way to allow myself to access messages from the main user account. Any ideas?

... did you enable the "Turn on phone calls & SMS" option in the settings of your user profile??

Dumdum The user is not a guest, but rather a separate user. Within that user, both SMSing and phoning are allowed.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the owners does not allow access to the app from another profile" then. If you have phone calls & SMS enabled, you should be able to see your messages when opening your SMS app in the non-owner profile.

All of the above are for the secondary account. As you can see, while the permissions are there, access isn't.

Just tested it and it definitely seems like you didn't enable "Turn on phone calls & SMS" in the profile settings.

On your Owner Profile, go to Settings > System > Multiple users > Select the user profile you want > Turn on phone calls & SMS.

When I disabled this option, opening the default Messaging app displayed the message about the app not being allowed by the owner.

Dumdum That did it thanks. The path really helped. I have been searching "sms" and "phone". There are too many options that are similar.
