I discovered another advantage that was introduced with this one (or already with the previous version?):

Keyboard Layout

QWERTZ layout can finally be used for English!
Previously you could select it in the settings (…), but the selection was ignored by the system!

Good for all those who want to use only one layout for all languages: QWERTZ.
However, this improvement presumably also affects other layouts?

jak97 What Release channel do you have selected? As stated on the GrapheneOS website: Releases are tested by the developers and are then pushed out via the Alpha channel. The release is then pushed out via the Beta channel shortly afterwards. Finally, the release is then pushed out via the Stable channel after being tested by some users using the Beta channel.

This reminds me of an answer to a question I asked earlier about physical attacks against GrapheneOS phones in an "After First Unlock" state, where the phone has been turned on, unlocked, but then re-locked, with the decryption keys stored in RAM.

GrapheneOS have also worked on additional countermeasures like making warm reboots (that don't erase RAM) unused among other suggestions.

Does anybody know the ETA on when GrapheneOS users will have the option of disabling "warm" reboots?

The release notes are referring to warm reboot as an emergency reboot to make it easier to understand. That's what the change does, removing the only direct use of the feature.

GrapheneOS Does this mean that when doing a "soft reboot" from the power options menu, or a "hard reboot" by holding down the power button for 30 seconds, that both of those particulars ways of rebooting are a "cold reboot"...and that's it's already been like that for some time?

I got the impression from another thread that cold reboots weren't already the standard on GOS, but merely a planned feature. I must've misunderstood.

Does that mean users can activate + manage eSIM without (privileged) Google services with the newest release of GrapheneOS?

The usage manual currently states that I would still need Google services (at least for some tasks)

GrapheneOS no longer supports Pixel 4a beyond essential security updates, so I doubt it.
