- Trying to install GrapheneOS via the Webinstaller
- Device is Google Pixel 6 Pro Android 14
- Performed a full factory reset on phone
Phone Settings are Enabled for:
- Developer Tools
- OEM Unlocking
- USB Debugger active
1) Connected phone to my Win10 PC with USB Type C to Type A Cable. I hear the 'USB Chime' sound and I see the prompt pop up on phone that says USB debugger is active. Then I ran Windows 10 Updates and it found 2 optional driver updates: a) LeMobile - Other Hardware - Android Composite ADB Interface, and b) LeMobile - Other Hardware - Android Bootloader Interface. Win10 Updates shows both drivers successfully installed. So I ejected Pixel 6 Pro USB by selecting USB safely remove icon and rebooted the computer and the Pixel 6 Pro (in Fastboot mode). Reconnect Pixel 6 Pro and I hear the 'USB Chime' sound, and Win10 Device Manager shows 'LeMobile Android Device' and has a subfolder 'Android composite ADB interface'
2) Pixel 6 Pro in Fastboot mode, connected via USB, then open Brave Browser to www.grapheneos.org, made sure Brave Shields were off, clicked on button 'Install GrapheneOS', clicked link 'WebUSB-based Installer', scrolled down and clicked 'Unlock Bootloader' and I get a popup error: 'No compatible devices found' with another error under the popup on the web page that says: "Error: Failed to execute 'requestDevice' on 'USB': No device selected." If I look at my USB Safely disconnect icon it still shows 'Pixel 6 Pro' listed and is available to eject (if I want to). So I believe Windows understands that the phone is connected properly to the PC correctly with the correct drivers and Device Manager seems to agree.
3) I have now tried the above procedure on 2 different Win10 computers and tried a couple of different USB ports on each computer with same error results.
4) Is it possible I am doing something out of sequence? Or am I missing something?
I am so thankful for any insight and assistance.
Cheers!
