I have an older version of magic Earth installed that the Aurora store says I should update. But when I go to the (not logged in) play store it doesn't offer to update (in the update section).

The reason I want to update via the play store is because not ME isn't not working with Android Auto even after I enable unknown sources, but I hope that if I update via Google it'll work. But I don't want to log into Google either.

Thanks in advance!!!

I assume you are not logged in?

RRZishe I love MagicEarth. If you email support@magicearth.com and tell them you have a degoogled phone, they will send you the apk direct. Their support group is great.

I use a degoogled Android phone so I don't use Google Play. How can I download Magic Earth?
Please contact us at support@ and we will send you a direct link to the APK

      Hope this helps.

Its likely because your current installation has a different signing key than the one in play store. If you need an older version of a playstore app you can get it from apk mirror. It will have same signature as aurora installs, so aurora can update it later.

User2288 but when I install it via Aurora I get a error no new messages when I connect it to Android Auto

When you install from aurora you get the latest version. You said you want an older version.

On apk mirror you are able to get ANY version you want. And they will all update using aurora. If you dont want aurora to update it then tell aurora to ignore it, or simply don't update it. You will need to uninstall the version you have to install an older version.

Does this approach not resolve your issue?

User2288 My issue is, that magic earth doesn't work for me with Android Auto when I install it from the Aurora store. I reached out to ME and they sent me another APK to try out but it didn't work either.

Other people on this form said that they downloaded it from the Play store itself and it works for them. So because I don't want to log into the Play store I want to just update it via the Play store without logging in. But it's not giving me an option to update magic earth or any other app for that matter. Although in the past I have seen it give me an option to update apps.

This issue is even after I enable unknown sources for Android Auto.

I highly doubt there is any difference between getting from playstore and getting from apk mirror.

I suggest you try first. Get the old ver you want and install. Then try latest. Get both from apk mirror.

If they don't work i would highly doubt the logged in Gplay ver would work either. They should be identical.

Have you also played around with compatibility settings? See what settings those other guys are using.

User2288 other people are saying that that they downloaded it from the Play store and it works for them. But I'll try playing with the compatibility settings, I completely forgot about that.

                Thanks!

You need to downgrade M.E. to the previous version, e.g. 7.1.23.51 (version code 2023161911).
But you need to uninstall the current/newer one as it doesn't allow to downgrade.

From the Aurora Store, search for Magic Earth, select it, and tap on the three dots at the top-right corner, select Manual download.
Enter the version code as provided above (2023161911) and tap CHECK.

Sorry, if my reply is not directly on your topic. I also might replied in the wrong thread about a crash in the most recent version in ME, providing a way to downgrade using Aurora.
