Work profiles and IPC

Can apps running within a work profile use IPC to communicate with an app running in the "hosting" user profile? Are apps "isolated" from each other the same as a separate user profile in this sense?

No they can't.

A good example is that Vanadium cannot open an app if it is in the work profile.

Btw, using Shelter you should clone Vanadium, Gallery Contacts and maybe more. They are not actually cloned as they are system apps, but somehow they get an app entry or something? So then you have a browser (needed for many apps) and a Gallery to actually open screenshots etc.
