  • treequell Is this easy to do or is this time-consuming? I want a quick amnesiac qube with settings the way I want, not a long restore process each time I do something

    • I would really like an Amnesia mode that deletes every cache and all storage by default upon exit once things are set up. I want to install all the Apps I want, install extensions on browsers or in Apps, create everything in a way I like, then freeze the profile so that anytime I exit it will go back to the frozen state. The reason for this is Grapheme does not have great protection if a phone is stolen by someone with lots of resources (ie government adversary, company with large budget, etc). There is a good chance if the phone is stolen it will not be encrypted at the time and a sophisticated adversary will gain access. My concern is data in the cache could be used without authorization. I don't want to have to clear the cache for all Apps or recreate a profile each time.

Is there an amnesiac option already for profiles?

I wish there were a way to make it harder to accidentally go out of airplane mode :(

        • I am in airplane mode and use WiFi and Orbit.

I am very concerned about the eSIM and modem being used to track me. I am concerned that since the firmware is closed source that they may already be able to access it for things like geolocation. If were a political dissident or radical environmental activist, it seems like it would be easy to track me through the closed source firmware in the modem.

Is this a risk or is this not possible? I am not interested in how likely it is, since people usually underestimate how much they are being tracked.

Is it possible for me to physically open up the phone, disable the modem with heat, and have Graphene still usable if I don't damage other components? I am concerned about being listened to with the phone or the camera being turned on without permission. It is concerning me so much I may destroy the phone.

I don't trust closed-source firmware to not be easily hackable and always running even if turned off. It could also be hacked to tell Graphene it's off.
