  • Would GOS google play services be able to read the notification details from verbose apps even if they sent empty fcm push notifications? From the notification drawer or from notification history?
Would there be other ways it can see/collect data besides what they actively share on their own?

Thank you, it does. Now that I understand, I need to ask if the two independent GPS store behavior differences are cosmetic or bug?
If the proton app devs use the same package build variant on github/obtainium as in the google play store, then both independent google play store should show the apps under the account "manage" section.
User1 that has proton vpn installed via obtainium or file, in the store it says "the app installed isn't from play store". the proton pass app doesn't say that, however neither show up in the play store manage section.
User2 has both apps available from file, but play store has them under the manage section, and isn't flagging that they weren't installed from GPS.
I thought maybe because the app was previously installed on another device with that account, but it wasn't the case for all the apps.
When things in two isolated environments on the same device don't behave identical, it may be more than cosmetic, so I thought to ask. I'm no dev, I'm only good with patterns. But it would be an issue for me, if the two GPS independent instances weren't actually independent and isolated between profiles. Or if it was potentially a different issue of checks or functions not running because the first instance did run. But it's better to ask and let professional to theorize, or say it's cosmetic. Or that there cannot be two independent GPS instances in different user profiles.

Understood, thank you. But why does only Profile1 with GPS try to manage apps that exist in play store, and not Profile 2?
This is the biggest confusion for me. Two profiles, different google accounts, similar setups on the surface.

I'm not sure that's the issue I'm seeing initially. I have two different profiles, with separate instances of GPS.
The apps installed as owner via apk, aegis and proton, I made "avaialble from owner profile" in both prior to GPS.
One profile, GPS didn't install them, they say installed via file, but it is trying to manage and update them.
The other profile, they aren't being picked up by GPS at all, even tho they were also made available from owner profile.
I just created a 3rd profile to check.

From what you're saying, if I let GPS update them in Profile1, the owner profile will even see the update? I thought all profiles were siloed. Owner profile does not have GPS installed.

      • How do I stop google play store from trying to manage apps installed in non-GPS Owner profile but made available in second user profile with GPS?
