Since one or two days, whenever I connect my phone via USB to my (Windows) PC File Transfer section, and with it all other options like P2P etc., grays out the moment I open the menu. At first I thought it was the cable, so I switched to an other (new) cable, but still the same problem. Connecting it to various ports doesn't help either. Anyone else had this problem?

DeletedUser28 Oh yes! At first I thought it was bit of balloney as when I installed the OpenBoard APK there was no gesture typing available, but at that link I saw that they provided the gesture typing libraries from the Google board separately, as there was no open source one (yet). And I also found the setting where it asked for a gesture library to add in OpenBoard. So I downloaded the arm64 one, prompted OpenBoard to the library file and violá! In a way much better than Gboard, as somehow it won't catch on to the language libraries.
Thanks a bunch!
de0u Yeah I've been using "SMS Backup & Restore", to save them all locally and then copy them to PC, so use the same app on the new/other phone to import them.
Wish they would add these functionalities into the stock dialer app, though. As well as blocking number ranges (starting with..) for instance, so that there's no need to install third party apps,
Would be handy if there was a OS based backup system that creates a local backup file of like the settings, sms and call history, contact list, etc., which then can be either be stored on a computer or a cloud storage like Proton Drive, so I don't need to look for apps on the Play store that can do these things.
I just use an USB adapter and a wired headphone, whenever I feel the need to use one.
I have the same phone, and I never experienced what you're describing. Sounds like it's a problem with that particular device, rather than the 6a in general.
Yeah, I can only use the Dutch suggestions/correction with OpenBoard. Not with any of the others.
Duckduck Interesting. I tried OpenBoard as suggested in your thread and though it does not have glide/swipe typing, it did add word suggestions/correction for Dutch, but not for Norwegian. I thought dictionaries was only done on the OS level, not per keyboard.
Apologies for necro-ing this thread, but I'd like to be able to more easily type in other languages than English. Is there a way to add dictionaries (other than personal) to the keyboards?
I've installed mine using the guide from the website, but found later a video done by Side Of Burritos on YouTube, who goes over the guide and demonstrates the process along side, which I found very informative and instructive even after I already completed the process myself. I can imagine that it would be very helpful for someone still new.
I've tried buying a cheap generic USB adapter for audio jack, but that got rejected by the phone, it said it could not connect to it, but could tell me that it was an audio device. When I bought a Samsung one it worked fine.
When typing with the default GrapheneOS keyboard in English, one can see word suggestions at the top. When I add other languages that I want to use, they do not show word suggestions. This carries over to other keyboards it seems. Because I've never really learned to type on a mobile device the swipe typing is really handy for me, but since only English receives word suggestions, the swipe typing in Gboard for instance is also only functional for English.
