bayesian TBF some cheap domains have less protections than others, from what I understand.

Specifically, the gTLD, which heavily effects price. Such as '.gay' having harassment protection. Unsure what other gTLDs have in terms of rules and regulations but its something to consider.

I can second Wordpress as a great solution. Fully free software and even works without Javascript. Gets a bit of a bad rap sometimes but really it comes down to how you use it - when keeping things to the essentials it's a great backend for most websites needing a CMS.

You do want to host things on your own domain if possible, but even if that isn't an option it should be quite feasible.

I highly recommend the Joomla CMS, especially for for GrapheneOS users.

Joomla has a very good security track record; even more so compared to Wordpress. Joomla has a code review and security audit process backed by an active Security Strike team. I think this is the major benefit to GrapheneOS users.

Joomla has ongoing development and a very deep and broad team of project volunteers
Joomla has excellent documentation
Joomla out-of-the-box is already decent and very usable. There are many open source addons available to extend it.

I have used Joomla for both business and personal sites for 18 years, since 2005, and continue to do so. I highly recommend Joomla.
