I opened a support ticket with proton about this and was deliberate to point out grapheneOS's coming release of a phone and how that's going to be a real handicap for Proton if they don't change/fix this soon.
If enough of you folks open tickets/submit feedback in app, they'll realize the need to change much more quickly.
If they don't change this it'll be shooting themselves in foot in a very huge way. I told them I'll be checking out tuta at some point, and that I've been an Unlimited subscriber for very many years.
