Banking apps won't start

I have two banking apps (PSECU and Chase) and neither will start up. Chase never worked. PSECU used to work, but after an app update, it doesn't work either.

Both look like they're doing the same thing. From the home page, I click to start the app, the apps background comes up, then it goes back to the original (home) screen. Any suggestions on what to try?

I saw that suggestion on another thread. I had already enabled "Automatic exploit protection compatibility mode", via system settings, and assumed it was the same thing.

Reading the banking compatibility guidance, I see there is "Exploit protection compatibility mode" per app, which is accessed via icon-long-press, then App Info > Exploit protection compatibility mode". Apparently, this is a different setting, and seems to work for both Chase and PSECU (Pennsylvania State Employee Credit Union).

Dumdum They're doesn't seem to be a report for PSECU (you can make one if you're willing to do so)

I'll try to, but it might take a while. I've moved since last logging into github, so have to update my credentials. My password is too weak and I no longer have the email address or isp on record. I'll probably create a new account and go from there.

Interesting that Chase didn't work with this turned on then. It says that this mode disables exploit protections "for apps that are known to need it", but Chase is been known to need this since this time last year. Weird.
