Uber without Google services

Wondering if Uber would work without Google services. I don't need to see the taxi in live motion. I just need to order one and know when it will arrive and know when it has arrived. I can turn on location services for the Uber app.

https://m.uber.com doesn't work and fails with an error.

The Uber native app is dependent on Google Play Services and won't work without it. For instance, it depends on the Google Maps API provided with Google Play Services

If you don't need to give the driver your live location, you can route location requests via the OS, and can avoid routing them via Google Play Services.

You could potentially try Uber in Vanadium without Google Play Services and see if it works there (not sure myself).

An alternative is to use a taxi. No app required, just make a call and wait.
