Complete lack of Low Battery notifications??

I don't think I've ever seen a notification for Low Battery. The phone literally will just die.
A few moments ago I had to check and I had gone from 30% to 4% with no notification at all, BUT ALSO when i plugged in my charger it refused to recognize one was connected and died a minute later. This is a charger that is in known working condition and completely functional.

That sucks but there are a couple of things you can do so it doesn't happen again.

Settings > Battery toggle on "Show battery percentage in status bar"

I have an app installed called "BetterBattery Pro" from F-Droid. I set an alarm so I get a notification when my battery drops to a pre-set level.

GrapheneOS unclear why you're making that assumption.

The assumption comes from a previous comment, that implies battery percentage is really the only solution to prevent such a thing to keep an eye on it. When for example, if you're playing a game more often than not, immersive mode is enabled.

No. Unsure why some people aren't seeing them. I still get them.

Settings > Apps
Three dots > Show system apps
System UI > App Info > Notifications > Battery is turned on?

Otherwise I can't find an system app that might be responsible for sending low battery notifications. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this.

[deleted] yes I've checked and it was on at the time. For due diligence I toggled it off, rebooted, checked &same issue. Went back toggled it back on, rebooted to test, and same issue.

At best it showed up once maybe twice but after that it no longer showed up. I've been unable to pin down what may be causing this and why this is even happening as I find it hard to imagine that such a feature would be ripped out by any developer anywhere.

Since I've lost the original device and received my replacement, I am deciding to give stock a try so I can have a true comparison as I never tried stock when I first got my device, I cannot say for sure if I ever tried this in safe mode, I'd like to say yes, although I cannot be sure. I'm almost certain I did, though did not test extensively which might be why I do not recall much information on it, But it didn't make a difference; however, that is conjecture since I cannot remember completely

You want low battery notifications and I am annoyed at the low battery notifications on 20%, 10% and 5% and turned them off manually.

has anyone found a solution for this?
I have the same problem and it's really annoying when the phone just turns off due to lack of battery and I didn't notice it was so low due to lack of notifications.
I'm using multiple profiles and I only get one silent notification when battery falls to 20% and nothing else.

I once had a no low battery notification issue on my old motorola, clearing cache on the system ui app fixed it, might be worth a try.

For those getting silent notifications, which is what I was getting, the default sound for it was named something like lowbatt.ogg, but either didn't exist or had no actual sound, once I switched to another sound it worked fine.

I too am frustrated by the lack of low battery notifications. I get a notification at 25%, and that's it.
This leads into a problem unrelated to this thread: If my phone dies, and it needs to complete an update on the next reboot, it goes into a boot loop. When I plug it in to a charger, it powers on before it has enough charge to refreshing all the apps and finish booting, so it dies, then tries again, then dies...
I'm guessing this is a problem with the base Android code. Total madness that this scenario isn't accounted for. It needs to not matter what kind of charger one is using.

Something to try: on the yellow "booting another operating system" screen, tap the power button to pause booting, then let the device charge for an hour or two.
