That is a very poor quality article. Without any actual proof or clarification.
The author uses the referenced leak from the 9to5google.com article, showing an option of chatting to Bard in Google Messages and some how takes that to make the point that all of your messages will be shared with Google. ie., tries to lead you into thinking that every RCS message is read by Bard on Google servers in clear-text, without e2e encryption. When, in fact, it only chats with the Bard chatbot and those are readable by Google.
When Google Bard comes to Google Messages, it will read and likely upload all your messages with all your contacts, even the end-to-end encrypted ones
The author is a only a Forbes contributor [1], provides absolutely no primary sources, raises concerns about the "interview" with Google's chatbot, Bard, and is treating its responses as factual information. Presenting Bard's quotes as facts or official Google communication is deemed highly irresponsible, and imo, leading to a confusing article to say the least. Full of misinformation. The piece becomes even more convoluted with a lengthy addition speculating on Apple features without citing a factual basis.
