chock-a-block yes, I've done a lot of real work (email, web browser (desktop sites work pretty much as expected), obsidian, slack, spreadsheets, linux terminal, file management, claude ai, multitasking between the things listed) with it and a lapdock. The biggest limitation now is the 1080p limit and that my lapdock hardware and firmware is mediocre. There are a few quirks here and there (and partly that's on me for not installing a better file manager app) but for the most part it should be plenty for most people. It would also be nice if the phone screen could be off while using it.
If I could use my nice keyboard at my desk with my 4k monitor, it would be amazing. Or if the lapdock firmware was up to par with a regular laptop it would be amazing (I'm considering getting a framework shell and making one with it, it's definitely possible but expensive and I don't have the time)
I'm considering wiping my current laptop and using it as a media center for my tv (with wake on lan to save power), and setting up rustdesk so I can access a more capable environment via desktop mode if/when I need it. For most things, the debian terminal environment is plenty for my needs, but it's not enough for everything (I couldn't get it to compile android apps for example)
