On GrapheneOS, I use Aurora Store as my source of APK files that are not available from F-Droid. I keep the Google Play Store app disabled, to ensure that it does not receive or process any data.
This largely works as intended. However, I recently encountered an issue while trying to install an available update for an app that came pre-installed with GrapheneOS, called SIM Manager (com.google.android.euicc).
I collected the full details on the error in a bug report to Aurora Store, here: https://gitlab.com/AuroraOSS/AuroraStore/-/issues/1028. The short version is that the following error appears when installing the updated APK:
INSTALL_FAILED_INTERNAL_ERROR:
fs-verity not set up for system package update com.android.server.pm.PackageManagerException:
APK doesn't have fs-verity:
/data/app/~~PkpJBlIhFDWNOfJfO1JchQ==/com.google.android.euicc-Y1Wb2v0m1rBLFdgs5-42Ew==/base.apk
However, the response from the Aurora Store bug tracker is that this is likely a GrapheneOS issue or feature, and they suggested I report the problem here - hence this forum thread.
