SMS fails to show up when on secondary profile

When trying to set up play services on a secondary profile, sometimes SMS does not get received even if it is enabled in settings. The SMS app shows no messages or old messages, but if you switch to owner the message is right there.

Sometimes restarting fixes the issue. Is it a sandbox bug?

It sounds like you haven't enabled SMS for the profile. Double check the setting from the Owner profile here: Settings > System > Multiple Users > *the profile you want SMS messages to show up for* > Turn on phone calls & SMS

other8026 no I did, the app does open, but it shows no messages. A restart sometimes fixes it. I am pretty sure it's a bug.

Just to check, did you enable SMS for the user profile? The toggle for that is in the owner profile under Settings > System > Multiple users.

SMS in secondary user profiles is known to be a bit unreliable but should work fine with the default Messenger app.

treequell I did, I know if I did not the app does not open, but in this case the app opens and I can read previous messages but new messages only is visible in owber profile

Could you try creating an entirely new user profile, and testing whether you have the same issue in that new user profile?

That will check that you haven't inadvertently configured something in this user profile incorrectly.
