DeletedUser73 Some of the apps seem to be outdated on f droid and github,or are they fine like that? Like 2 months+ no updates, i just want to know there isnt risks while using those apps, thanks in advance
[deleted] DeletedUser73 It depends on what the app does. imho Apps that handle important information such as banking, browser, file sharing, vpn, passwords, the updates are more important. An offline card game isn't less important it get updated often.
bookreader Frequency of updates is not an indicator of whether or not there are security holes in a piece of software. A hypothetical perfect piece of software that has absolutely no security holes will NEVER need to be updated. At the other end of the spectrum, a security disaster could need perpetual security updates, say hourly. Would you be happier with perfect software that is never updated or a security disaster that gets updated once a week yet has holes that are found and in need of patches daily?
