This is most likely a very stupid question, but I couldn't find a satisfying answer anywhere. So my display broke and I'd like to replace it. I've read here and there that phones needed to be reset to do so? Was that only referring to some official Google repair shop and their policy, or is that a technical necessity? And does GrapheneOS play any role in that when it comes to accepting new hardware or anything? I'd like to keep the data on the phone and the phone itself.
The Phone is a 4a. As I understand it there's no way to connect HDMI or something similar to salvage it that way.
Thank you for reading and letting me know how this works.
