This is a feature that came out in stock Android 14 in Settings->Safety & Emergency. You can leave it off, leave it on all the time, or turn it on just for specific uses (it requires you to activate Bluetooth and Location) and it can tell if you are being tracked by an Airtag, SmartTag, Tiles, etc. in, say, your backpack or car (best to take your car with whatever you generally carry like backpack/purse to an empty part of a parking lot so you don't get Bluetooth crosstalk from iOS and Samsung devices).
Have GOS developers not had the time or interest to impalement this, or are their security reasons for not doing so?
No biggie as there is an open source app you can get on GitHub and F-Droid called AirGuard which does the same thing. You can use this app without Location (need to turn on Bluetooth) and if you get a positive, can turn on Location to further drill down. I'd prefer it on GOS, though, as you never know with an app (especially less popular) that is open source - and especially when also on PlayStore.
