Like the OP I was concerned about the jump so I did not flash my existing Pixel 6, but got a 6a pretty darn cheap as it had been on the market a bit and had no data on it to begin with as it was a new phone - albeit came out six months earlier. Now that I have flashed the 6a, I can say of my stock Android 6 and GOS 6a, I like the GOS 6a better. I like the privacy and security, but for me it is also something unique and special. Stock Android has more bells and whistles, but most of those features are deactivated on my stock Android 6 (with the phone on a cell plan not in my name where I pay a friend cash and a bogus Google account). I'm actually pretty private on the stock Android, but since you never know with Google, much prefer the GOS 6a.
