Why is Firefox/Fennec/Mull so choppy when scrolling?

Just switched to a Gecko based browser and while I appreciate the proper ad blocking, extensibility, and bookmarks syncing, I've noticed that scrolling is not as smooth as on a Chromium based browser. In fact, it is quite jittery.
I have disabled "Automatic font sizing" in Accessibility, but the issue still persists.

I noticed this too over multiple pixel 6 units never did figure out why. But I don't think it's part of any feature since it didn't happen on any of my other phones including 4a 5g and 5a. I suspect maybe something to do with the google tensor?

[deleted] I think this is unrelated to OP issue, it is still smooth on my old 4a 5g which I think is only 60hz display but choppy on my 6 even with smooth display off or on.

flighty_sloth Its choppy compared to systemUI, but you wont notice on 60hz cuz its locked to 60fps, (matching the hz). This is why it feels shit to use on a high refresh rate display.

But doesn't turning off smooth display lock the panel globally to 60hz?

Yes. But since the app is locked to 60, and your panel is also 60hz on your pixel4, it wont feel choppy. However if you do the same while smooth display is on on a mosern device it will be bad.

Define choppy. To me 60hz is choppy. Does it stutter, and freeze? Is it rendering below 60fps?

[deleted] I guess stuttering is a good word to describe it, literally you can see the screen repeatedly stop and start multiple times fast. In comparison 60hz proper scrolling feels buttery smooth.

That seems to be a different issue from what im familiar with. You can submit a report of this issue to the Mull developers. But i believe OP meant its rendering at 60 instead of 90 or 120.
