Hello and Happy Pre-Thanksgiving Day.
Question. I just tried to purchase the new Pixel 8 Pro 256 GB at the online Google store. I'm not able to complete the purchase without verifying my identity with google. I am not trying to hide my ID and provided my address, phone and my cc info, but when I went to complete the transaction I was told to fill out google verification form and attach a copy of my ID for review before I can make the purchase.
As stated before, I want to load the Graphene OS only because I want security in a hackable world, better privacy and less tracking of my very boring life. I want my privacy and that is all. I live simply and feel there's already too much personal info out there widely available.
Has anyone had to go thru this process with google? Should I consider purchasing somewhere else? Technically, at this point, they already have my name, address, phone and cc info and surely that's being stored by them now since I tried making a purchase and put in the info.
