Keyboards' personalized learning not working

Android keyboards(including the default one on GOS) have a setting often present in text correction settings called "Personalized suggestions". Its description says: "learn from your communication and typed data to improve suggestions".

I assume this setting is responsible for learning a word, lets say "asdasd", after the word is typed certain number of times. But on my pixel 4a 5g, GrapheneOS, Android 13 and now 14, this does not work.
Neither the default keyboard nor any third party keyboard (such as helium's openboard fork, anysoftkeyboard) is able to learn words over time, except gboard but I am not a gboard user. I have to manually add words in personal dictionary for keyboard to pick them up.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or what might be the cause of it?

This happens in normal (non-incognito) typing mode.

Hi, I observe the same. Although I've written many times my e-mail-adress, it doen't appear the next time. So I've put it manually in the dictionary.

himbim If you can use gboard, does that work fine for you in "remembering things"?

Does it work without Gboard? If not, will data be sent back even I installed Gboard over Aurora (anonymous account)?

himbim I am not knowledge-able enough to answer this I am sorry. I suggest you create a new user profile to test gboard if you want to test it.

I just added Form Aurorastore "open board valencia" and try this.

himbim That seems to be an open board fork. Did you have any luck getting personalized suggestion on it?

Is there some privacy setting or service in GrapheneOS that might be causing this?

I use Openboard, but I have not done it myself, but seems like what you need.

Panda-na Thank you for the suggestion. I'm afraid there seems to be a misunderstanding, this procedure is for creating custom dictionaries for openboard.
I can add words to the device's dictionary and keyboards would pick them up just fine. But keyboards should learn any arbitrary word that I frequently type, which they are not.

I suspected this "personalized learning" setting is responsible for that automated learning of new words by keyboards hence the title of this post.

Any further help is much appreciated.
