  • Play Store Parental Controls being ignored

Hello, I was trying to set up parental controls on my child's Pixel 3a running the latest GrapheneOS (20220616). In the Play Store, I went to Settings → Family → Parental Controls, and set them to on, and Apps & Games to "USK: All ages", i.e. the most restrictive setting.

Now I exit the Play Store, and reopen it, then proceed to try to install an app, like Angry Birds, and am surprised to find the Play Store happily installing the app.

What am I doing wrong?

madduck quite possible that functionality requires some of the system level privileges that the compatibility layer either hasn't been made to work with or can't be made to work with. Where parental control was necessary I found it more beneficial to leave their devices on stock and utilise Google Family link. You can administer Family Link as the parent from your GOS device. All of it's and the Play Stores content restrictions are strictly enforced as is the bedtime/usage time and the parental locking of devices.

MetropleX I certainly don't want my kids to be hooked up with stock Google spyware. I would rather forego parental control and trust them than trust Google and the other scumbags out there.

Is it worth to file an issue about this?
