Electrum on GrapheneOS

I've recently been getting into Bitcoin and am looking to take my money off the exchange while I still still have less than I can afford to lose. I put some onto an Electrum wallet on my phone as a test. How much riskier would you estimate this is than a hardware wallet? I understand that I'm probably trusting the Graphene devs in this scenario. Is the app sandbox strong enough that I can pretty safely assume none of my apps could gain enough access to mess with it? Are there more vulnerabilities I'm not considering?

applesbana Point taken. Although, say even just for keeping a smallish amount to have it with me on the go. What's my vulnerability profile look like? Is it greater than Graphene itself being compromised and $5 wrench attacks?

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking but I'll try. Your vulnerability profile looks like:

trusting grapheneos
trusting electrum
locking electrum transactions behind a lock screen pin code and electrum password
trusting people around you

An attacker getting through your lock screen pin and finding electrum wallet will probably not be too far away from a 5$ wrench attack.

Edit: If someone sees you with a hardware wallet in public that itself is information that you may be a crypto holder. If you only have a phone you blend in the crowd.

If you need a small amount on the go, then don’t worry about it and put it on your phone software wallet. Consider it like cash you carry. If you have a couple hundred bucks and your wallet is lost/stolen, so be it. Don’t walk around with thousands of dollars of btc.

If for some reason you need to always have access on the move and need it to be discreet, you could grab one of those tapsigners from coinkite (makers of coldcard) and have a 2/2 multisig with your phone software wallet. So even if the phone is stolen, the funds are safe without also having access to the physical card.

I’d recommend avoiding all of that and KISS:

Cold storage for large stash
Hot wallet on phone for walk around money

I hear Samourai Wallet is quite nice. I'm told that it works well on GOS and has some unique security and privacy features: Ricochet, Stonewall, PayNym, etc.
