Please help with clarifying some things when installing graphene on Pixel 6a

I know the guide says to install Image for June 22, 2022 but I don't want to go. Back that far unless I have to. Please let me know what the best thing to do is. And if it's not too much to ask, please link the image download for the image I need! I already have the guide for installing (:

If it is a Verizon-tweaked Pixel, you will never be able to OEM-unlock it, no matter which version of the stock OS is installed. Another device will be necessary.

flighty_sloth can't unlock due to not being able to enable OEM unlocking. It's greyed out. But graphene says it's compatible and that you need to flash June 2022 to do it

I have a newer version than June 2022. So does this mean I'd have to revert back? To enable OEM unlocking?

Hi there, you don't need the june update in particular, as long as you've updated since receiving the phone and factory reset you should be good to go. However, since you have a phone issued by verizon, you won't be able to toggle oem unlock which is absolutely necessary. Return the phone if you can and buy a non carrier device. Verizon in particular is notorious for never ever unlocking. See this for more information.

Let me clarify some things here. So the 6a specifically has a firmware bug in the version it comes with out of the factory, that's why you need to update it first and then factory reset to iron that out. If you do not do this you can't enable oem unlocking regardless of where you got the phone from.

Now another aspect comes into play, that your phone being a carrier device. These more often than not do not allow oem unlocking, us based carriers in particular are very stringent on this, and verizon is on the very top of the do not buy list.

Return the phone and get yourself a carrier agnostic one, so just the phone, no carrier contracts, nothing.
