Dro212 There's a long list of Android system apps with Network Permissions and some with Wi-Fi toggle permissions. Has anyone reviewed which of these can be safely disabled?
This is harder than it might seem.
Let's say, hypothetically, I remove network permission from 15 system apps, and one of them has the job of periodically checking for certificate revocations. If it can't, nothing obviously goes wrong, but a month later an intermediate certificate authority is blown and their cert is revoked, but my device keeps trusting certs from the blown CA. Let's say I somehow happen to notice that before I'm comprised... just one month after I blocked network access from system apps, will I even remember which 15 I blocked? Or was it 16...?
