Does file transfer to PC stop working for anyone else in GOS Android 14 if system app MTP Host cache is cleaned? If that cache is cleaned, PC's stop recognizing phone as device with host name (generic one or one set in 'About phone' settings) and instead, start recognizing phone (in Device Manager) as generic USB MTP device, but not to which files can be transferred. That is not the case for GOS Android 13. It happens only in Android 14, but not sure if it is a GOS Android 14 issue or upstream Android 14 issue.
Why clean MTP Host cache? File transfer to
PC is broken for me in Android 14 on my Pixel 4a (5G). It freezes during copy/cut-paste process very frequently and requires disconnecting phone, and either rebooting it or wiping cache for system apps related to MTP Host (such as Files, Download, Download Manager, and com.android.providers.media).
Once MTP Host cache is wiped, factory reset is required to bring back normal MTP file transfer functionalty. Otherwise, file transfer can only be performed via ADB commands, which require enabling ADB debugging, and that is something that should not be used in production devices.
Does anyone else have similar issue with file transfer to PC's after upgrading to Android 14? Is there a way to bring back normal file transfer functionality after MTP Host cache cleaning, aside from factory reset?
