[deleted] Hello, I have a second profile in GOS and I disabled the option "Allow running in background". Most apps that I have in this profile are apps that I don't need to get real-time fast notifications. When I switch from main profile to second one, it opens really quick in my opinion. Does GOS keep the second profile running in background (or cached) even though I disabled the option? I understand that this may be good for battery if you switch profiles frequently.
[deleted] You just have a fast phone. It should not be running if the option is disabled. Maybe there is a grace period of a few seconds or minutes before it gets killed but i dont think so.
brightjob4495 just speculating here, but could it be that the apps get loaded while you are in the lock screen entering your pin code?
[deleted] Didn't think at the time but I didn't set up a password for the second profile. Does that mean that the profile is not encrypted? I don't need to set up the password for the second profile since the phone boots at the main profile which has password and encryption.
Floyd If you "end session" upon exiting the profile then the profile will be powered off. If you simply switch profiles the other profile will remain running.
233328 Floyd If you simply switch profiles the other profile will remain running Not if the toggle "Allow running in background" is disabled for that profile.
[deleted] How do you end session? I just swipe twice down from notification area and switch profiles.
de0u [deleted] How do you end session? Press the power button and hold it down until the menu appears.

wahY0tai 233328 I havent checked the docs, but it could refer to if the user is allowed to run background apps inside the profile. It may not refer to the profile it self. Just so you know it may not do what you think. Although, i could be wrong here.
Floyd 233328 it's weird but I don't have any such toggle option. I only have an option for cross profile notifications.
233328 wahY0tai It may not refer to the profile it self. It does, I just tested it. Background app activity can be restricted on a per-app-per-profile basis anyway, by going to the app's Settings page > App battery usage.
233328 Floyd You can only do this from the Owner profile. From the page you mention with the setting for cross-profile notifications, you must tap on the secondary user profile that you want to configure, then you'll see the option alongside other configuration options, like whether to enable phone calls and SMS for that profile.
