Apps stopping in background

Vlc in audio mode, libretube in popup mode is getting closed again and again. Before it used to work properly I'm sure i haven't changed any settings. Both have optimized battery. Kiwi also stops downloading in background it has unrestricted battery. Everything is working as expected in my non pixel device. Is this a pixel thing or graphene issue. Any solution appreciated

I have unrestricted battery usage and still apps are closing. Anyone?

Another person managed to get the apps to continue running in the background by turning on Exploit Protection Compatibility Mode. Here's the thread: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/4767-solution-to-important-apps-closing-in-background/18

I want to point out that "Exploit Protection" is a good thing and turning on the "Compatibility Mode" is arguably less secure and is only there in case apps don't behave well with GrapheneOS's hardened memory allocator. For any other app that works fine, don't enable the compatibility mode. If you find that it doesn't help you, then be sure to disable the compatibility mode again!
