Why no other rom uses GmsCompat?

Why does no other ROM include the currently Graphene exclusive Play Services compatibility layer, as its the best and safest implementation (far better than MicroG? As its open source, i find it weird that
nobody ported it to other roms and only we GOS users benefit from this amazing software.

I think the big issue is "shims". Any OS that copies GrapheneOS has to use the same shims to make their own setup work.

The reason why other OSes don't just copy GrapheneOS? I can't honestly say, but I would guess one (or all) of the following reasons:

lack of understanding
conflicts with their own OS's customizations.
not willing to do the "grunt" work of copying another's code

While GmsCompat, all the GrapheneOS developed shims and all the stuff around are open-source, the actual Play Services implementation is the original from Google. Therefore it is no option for people who want a open source implementation because of facts or ideology.

GrapheneOS has a compatibility layer providing the option to install and use the official releases of Google Play in the standard app sandbox.
