Rooting with grapheneos

I like the customisability of lineageos but the de-googled experience and extra security features of graphenros. If I root obviously I will loose secure boot but is there a way to get it back like signing my own ROM?

Yes you can sign your own ROM and make any changes you wish with your new operating system, but its no longer GrapheneOS, its a forked OS of GrapheneOS

If you want to manage merging updates with your own changes and resigning every time you wish to do an update, you can, but rooting does have serious security issues. This is why GrapheneOS does not have an option to root
