Rotation lock to landscape

Pixel 4a 4G, GOS 13. Is there a way to lock the screen in landscape mode, even when being held in a near portrait orientation?

There’s an auto rotate toggle, but when set to off the phone is forced to portrait mode. When on, it seems to not hold landscape mode beyond about 45 degrees.

Stock Android 12 (and maybe 13?) has a face detection mode where it claims to use the selfie camera to work out your face orientation however the phone is being held, but this toggle is missing from GOS.

If there’s no way in the OS, any app that will do it?

When I (Pixel 6) disable auto. rotate and rotate the phone to the side, a icon for manual rotation appears in the left bottom corner (portrait mode).

Ah thanks, I missed that. Hitting that icon that pops up when you rotate does seem to work. It only seems to appear if you rotate to about 20 degrees from landscape, so if you’re at 45 degrees it doesn’t appear, and doesn’t appear at all in some cases where the phone is sloping. But you can explicitly rotate to vertical landscape until the icon appears, press it, then rotate back to 45 and sloping and it’ll stay locked.
