Hello,
I'm aware that apps can only be copied from the Owner user to alternative users. Therefore I will probably use the Owner profile with Google Play installed to install and update apps. I know others install Google Play/Services on a separate user but that's no good if wanting to use apps from Google Play in other users. If only it were possible to copy apps from non-owner users.
I was thinking about creating a "General" user and "Google" user. I can copy apps to the "General" user where I don't need Google Services and to the "Google" user where I do. I can also install additional apps in the "General" user where I don't need Google Play.
However, maybe it's too much hassle to worry about multiple users and it prevents me from simplifying back to a single Owner user easily at a later date as there is no way to transfer things across easily. I'm aware that there may be new IPC restriction features in the future. It would be great to limit which apps can talk with the Google apps. That would make isolating between users less necessary. If such a feature was available I'd like to be able to require explicit permission for app A to talk to app B.
I wonder then if it's best to stick with a single user and deal with apps talking with google services for now, or if separating apps into two users as I suggest above is a good approach.
Thank you for any feedback or suggestions.
