Flashing failing on Pixel 7a, release 2023101300, Web

I fear I've bricked my new Pixel 7a. At one point when the flashing via web appeared hung, I clicked the power button and now the phone reports "your device is corrupt"

I'm able to get it past the: Writing product... Writing system stages, but it hangs seemingly forever on 'Writing vendor'.
When I finally resort to "reboot to bootloader" on the device, I receive:
"Error: Failed to execute 'transferOut' on 'USBDevice': A transfer error has occurred."

Suggestions?

(host machine was Windoze+Edge, after failing with Brave. Resource monitor shows activity falls to zero for Edge processes after display of "Writing vendor" status message.)

gos Your USB connection is broken. You'll need to fix that. Try flashing from another computer. You can flash from another Android device. Use the cable shipping with the phone.

Does it boot to bootloader interface at least? If it does it's not bricked. Try flashing from an Android device. It's usually more reliable.
