Speed up skipping compilation of system packages with dexpreopt (precompilation to native code) to improve post-update boot time.

I installed this update, update speed was very fast consider previous update. Once system is restarted it starts to compile again system apps. About 21 apps rather 121 ...... using precompiled packages, is there a lost of performance or stability?

I went to System update > Check for updates and nothing happened. What determines when this is available for download?

maximus87 DisplayPort is now supported for 8th gen Pixels. This message from the project account in the Alpha/beta testing room explains why it wasn't included in the release notes:

DisplayPort output is now enabled for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro which isn't listed in the release notes since they cover changes from the previous stable release which didn't support them, not changes from the last experimental Pixel 8 / Pixel 8 Pro release.

I guess it's time to sell my laptop and buy a portable monitor 🤓. Thank you grapheneos 😄

      1)App restart is required.
App optimizations has completed. Tap to restart apps that were optimized.
It happen to me every time i reboot the phone, optimizing apps 2 of 2.

      2)Problem with screen auto lock.
If I put the phone on the table, the screen does not turn off and stays on for minutes. I have set in 15 seconds + 5 seconds screen suspend.

Hello everyone, While I do not see it in the release notes. Has Face Unlock been included in this release? If not, @devs are you yet able to confirm if and or when it will be?

Nevermind I see the answer in the Super thread for the P8 & P8 pro stickied at the top of the main page.

        Thanks,

          Woo Hoo!

          Restarting Pixel 5 after download.

          They get faster every time.

          Rookie From grapheneos.org:

'Releases are tested by the developers and are then pushed out via the Alpha channel. The release is then pushed out via the Beta channel shortly afterwards. Finally, the release is then pushed out via the Stable channel after being tested by some users using the Beta channel.'

No fix for Seedvault? The last "update" in 2023100900 to it broke it completely, if it could be rolled back somehow, before this update, the last time it was updated it was perfect! It finally backed up contacts, could back up well over 100 apps without failing every time, and just... worked! Now it won't even back up APKs, only app data and won't back up contacts anymore, also likes to fail more often again. Its like it used to be before it was updated in 2023070500.

Please bring it back to the state it was at after the update you brought in in 2023070500. No further updates were necessary until you brought in your own backup solution. It was working wonderfully for what it is...

This is a crucial and integral part of the OS, we need a backup solution, even if imperfect, that works!

Thanks a lot for all your hard work, its appreciated!

Tryptamine afaik Seedvault has been unmaintained in a long time. It's a broken and incomplete app and is totally unreliable. So issues are expected.

Seedvault broke everything for me on my new p8p. Auditor was giving me a red screen and a big error message. I had to factory reset and migrate everything manually. What do you expect from an app like that? It is better to take your time and do it properly.

Seedvault isn't maintained by GOS. A new and proper backup app is in the works. But it takes time. There are other Priorities afaik. You can look them up in the issue tracker. They're implementing important other securtiy features.

Patience is key, it's ready when it's ready.

Forgot to mention, I found this app to be very helpful while migrating manually: https://github.com/tmo1/sms-ie

Not Certain that you have the same Issue, but for me changing to backups via webDAV is much much better. And Nextcloud has webDAV as well.
